NBCUniversal will send you a link to your interview session which you must complete within 7 days. This online interview comprises 5-6 questions with 2 minutes to read and think about each question and up to 3 minutes to record your answer.
Example task
A typical question could be “Tell us a time when you had to work as a team”, or “Why do you want to work at NBCUniversal?”.
How to respond for success
Iulia responded to the second question in particular by linking her previous experiences and love of the industry. She did this by mentioning her previous experiences working with photography and passion for film production, along with her experiences in tech. This aligns with NBCU as a company, creating innovative tech solutions to improve the entertainment industry.

Interview
This stage will be an interview conducted by Directors of the local branch you are applying for. In Iulia’s case, her interviewers were one of the IT Directors and a Business Analyst from London. This stage was broken up into two sections, a SWOT presentation and a classic interview taking a total of 1 hour to complete.
SWOT analysis presentation
You will be emailed 1-2 weeks before the day of your interview on a brief, explaining what you need to prepare for your presentation. Iulia, for example, delivered a 10 minute presentation consisting of a SWOT analysis on Universal Pictures, to analyse the impact of COVID-19 on the UK box office. Afterwards, the interviewers asked questions on her presentation before proceeding to the final interview.
Online interview
The interviewers will have your CV in front of them and they will ask questions relating to your previous experiences and links to the industry.
How to respond for success
Iulia kept eye contact with the camera and maintained a steady pace when talking. She would recommend asking questions back to the recruiters to demonstrate that you are interested in the industry, but also engaged in conversation, rather than being a robot. The interview is very friendly and NBCU are looking for a character to make sure you would be a good fit to the team. The interviewers typically ask less formal questions, discussing film and favourite shows to make sure that you are relaxed but maintain professional standards.

Final Interview
This interview was conducted by the Vice-President at NBCU London and consisted of a very conversational interview style. The interviewer will ask more questions about your experiences and will expect you to elaborate on your broader skill sets such as Project Management, organisation and team leadership.
