Online Tests
Following the initial application, John has to complete two scenario-based tests, both around 30 minutes. The first test was focused on leadership & decision making. The second was based on data analysis and reading graphs and data to make judgements.
Example task
For the first test, a question that John faced was: “An Associate has this specific issue, how would you go about dealing with it?”. For the second test, a typical question would be based on percentage increases relating to production costs of stock and giving a decision of which product to discontinue.
How to respond for success
John recommends that you have a good understanding of Amazon's leadership principles, which are used all of the time at Amazon to make decisions. It’s good practice to use these when justifying why you made a decision as you will make in the online tests and in interviews later on in the application process.
Expect a 2-week wait before progressing to the next stage.
Final Interview
This process consists of two, 30-minute interviews. John found that they were closely linked to the previous tests in the application process.
How to respond for success
Having a thorough understanding of Amazon’s processes within the Fulfilment Centre is crucial for an exceptional interview. John learnt many of the basic but fundamental Acronyms that amazon uses as a business. These include “FBA” (Fulfilment By Amazon) and “CPU” (Cost per unit).
