This process will take around 30 minutes to complete. Blackstone requires you to fill in personal information and submit your CV. They usually ask you to write an essay, ranging from inspirational workpieces to why would you be good for the programme. The Spring Week for Blackstone is firm-wide but you can only apply to their Diverse Leaders Programme or their Future Women Leaders one.
How to respond for success
Blackstone loves to see unique individuals as much as possible. They also love to see that you are passionate about diversity and inclusion as much as you are about wanting to work at the firm. Expect a 1 to 2-month wait before progressing to the next stage.
Final Interview
For the final stage, Ruan received an email asking him to respond with an essay regarding the ‘importance of diversity in the workplace. You have a limit of 300 words to try to wow them with your understanding of the topic but also again you have to show that you understand it differently from how everyone else will.
How to respond for success
Ruan advises that it is best to emphasise a slightly different or more in-depth perspective than one that others might give. HR are likely to come across very similar and standard responses so it is imperative that you give a unique response. Maybe not as out of the box as for a topic such as ‘inspirational works’ but try to give it a twist of your own.
