Online Application
This will take between 30 minutes to an hour. It requires you to fill out your educational career, attained and projected grades, contact details and answers to questions related to Bank of America.
Bank of America recruiters don’t actually use this online application for filtering candidates straight away. They will likely attach your application to the video interview (the next stage) and send off the two stages together as the “application”.
Virtual Interview
The video interview consists of 5 pre-recorded questions. For each question, you will have 30 seconds to think and then up to 3 minutes to record your answer, but you don't have to use all this time. You will have to complete the video interview within a certain number of days after submitting your online application but you will get an email about this.
How to respond for success
Number one is to always do your research. Look into the company, the division and area you are applying for and the wider industry they are operating in. Georgie recommends making your answers very relevant to the bank, referring to their values and culture and writing passionately.
The 30 seconds to prepare can pass by very quickly so Georgie would recommend bullet-pointing some answers to potential questions before starting the interview, so you can look over them whilst preparing your answers. It is likely that a real person will be reviewing your video and video interviews can be awkward to record as you're just talking to yourself.
Georgie spent some time practising this by recording herself answering some possible questions and watching it back to make sure she was not talking too fast or too slow, smiling and looking towards the camera. You will also get an opportunity to do some practice questions when you log into the video interview so make sure you do this to warm up.
Expect a 4 to 6-week wait before progressing to the next stage.

Presentation Interview
Approximately a week before your interview you will find out the topic that you need to do your presentation on. An example of a presentation topic is “ A project you have completed”. You will need to compose and deliver a 10-minute presentation on the topic and then the interviewers will ask you some questions about the presentation.
Technical Interview

You will be asked a range of technical and industry questions and you can use examples of when you’ve worked with certain technologies. You will also have a chance to ask questions so ensure you have some prepared

Final Interview
The final stage will compose of 3 main parts lasting 30 minutes each. In each part you will be talking to 2 different employees at the bank. The first part is a competency based interview. The next part will require you to deliver a 10 minute presentation before the final part which is a technical interview where you will be assessed on your technical and industry knowledge.
Example task
General interview questions could be similar to, “What's something happening in the news that could impact the bank?” A potential question Bank of America could ask for the competency interview would be “Describe a time you dealt with conflict?” A typical question in the technical interview could be like, “How would you explain cloud computing to a child?”.
How to respond for success
Make sure you are friendly and engaging throughout the interviews. Even online, your body language is important. Ensure you are prepared and have researched and practised some questions before your interview and that you know the values of the company.
Georgie would also suggest preparing some questions for your interviewers so that you can find out more about the company and role to make sure it's right for you. For the presentation, ensure it's detailed enough so that the audience understands the background and make sure you hit any talking points they make you aware of. Be engaging and passionate in your presentation and think ahead about any questions you may be asked.
Finally, for the technical interviews you may not be able to answer every question in full so make sure your passion for technology comes through.
